Improve your Posture, Performance and Recovery with Sports Massage.

About Grace Kearsey
As an animal-obsessed child, I grew up with a determination to work with horses, originally dreaming of my own riding school and horse rescue yard.
This changed slightly during my Horse Riding Instructor training as I developed a passion for the anatomy and biomechanics of riding. Noticing riding asymmetries led me to ask the question, “How else can I help improve this?”
After qualifying first in Human Sports Massage and then in Equine Sports Massage in 2019, I have since treated, taught, and helped various horses, riders, and non-riders while continuing to expand my knowledge and skills.
Although I originally trained with the intention to treat horses and riders, I equally enjoy helping alleviate muscular pain and tension in all other sports and conditions, especially posture-related issues.

Equine Sports Massage
What to expect during a treatment
A GK Sports Massage Treatment begins with a detailed consultation discussing your horses routine, diet and relevant health history. This ensures a treatment tailored to your horse’s specific needs.
Dynamic and static evaluations, as well as the use of mobilizations allows me to assess your horse this provides valuable insight into its posture, movement, asymmetries, muscle imbalances, and restrictions.
Following on from these assessments hands on massage and palpation is used to help alleviate muscle tension, improve circulation and therefore enhance recovery and flexibility.
After the session, I provide a personalized aftercare plan with recommendations for stretches and exercises to help maintain and improve imbalances and performance. This plan is detailed in a report, which is sent to you afterwards.

Sports Massage
What to expect during a treatment
A typical sports massage treatment with GK Sports Massage begins with a full consultation to help understand your specific needs. This is followed by postural assessments and range of movement tests to assess any imbalances or restrictions.
Based on this assessment the hands-on massage focuses on releasing tension, improving circulation and addressing muscular issues. A variety of techniques will be used, such as deep tissue massage, trigger-point therapy, myofascial release and muscle energy techniques. These help relieve muscle tension, improve circulation and enhance flexibility.
A session concludes with an aftercare plan, offering advice on stretches and exercises to help maintain progress in between sessions.
